Simply By Remembering Names
Remember the people you meet. Associate their name with something to help you remember, otherwise write it down, and try to spell it correctly.
This is quite possibly one of the simplest ways to be a charming woman.
There are many times I get someone’s name exactly right {pronunciation & spelling} and I’ll hear the person say “Wow, you’re the only person who pronounced that correctly!” Or “No one else can ever spell it right, thanks for remembering.”
This tiny little attribute of yours, you never know how far it can get you. It shows that you pay attention to detail, helps you personally connect to someone, and enhances your overall character.
The maintenance man in my building is so kind, he’s an older gentleman from Romania and his English…it’s fairly broken.
I made it an effort to understand and remember his name. After I left from our small conversation, I wrote his name down immediately because I have never heard this name before.
I see him a few times a week maintaining our building so it would be nice to have a name when I am greeting him. The next time I saw him, his face lit up when I correctly pronounced “Corliolon.”
I naturally have a great memory for small details but do need to write things down from time to time.
Please do so as well, and you’ll be impressed with your own charm, as well as charm your way into deals, acts of kindness, new friendships or new business relationships that will always be mutually beneficial.
How to be a charming woman by remembering names:
- Jot down a name immediately in a notes section of your phone or calendar.
- Spell it correctly and next to it spell it how it actually sounds if it’s a new or different name.
- Keep your memory sharp in general by doing crossword puzzles or any other hobby that can have the same effect.
Take Consideration To The Next Level
Not only did I remember my maintenance man’s name, I simply took 5 minutes out of my day to learn how to say “Hello” in Romanian, his first language.
We are blessed with knowledge at our finger tips and I take full advantage of it, even if it is for a simple way to connect with someone. I don’t particularly see Corliolon every day, nor do we speak much outside of when I see him cleaning the building, but I do feel the importance to connect with everyone around you.
Cori does very well at keeping the building top notch and his presence and kindness is also appreciated. I simply gave the same energy to him in showing him appreciation just of a different and unexpected form.
Learn a language or some key phrases. This can form strong connections in business. Working in my office, we see several representatives that come in.
One representative in particular learned a few words in the other language my office speaks. This immediately formed a connection. He took just a few minutes out of his day to learn a few phrases and truly pronounce them correctly.
I learned Good morning for our Romanian maintenance man. There are times I wish I had learned even just a simple few phrases in sign language as it would have been great to communicate with someone I had come across.
And really, I would love them to know that people in the community are wanting to make an effort in forming better communication skills.
How to be a charming woman by taking consideration to the next level:
- Take the time to learn some key phrases in another language. You never know when it will be useful. Learn a few phrases in sign language. This is on my list to do so as well.
Remembering Details. All The Fine Details
Similar to Principle No. 2 “Take Consideration To The Next Level” where remembering names is key, here we are remembering details.
In my notes section of my phone, I immediately write down any thought or idea that has the potential to be something brilliant.
I mention this tip in my piece;
In doing this, I realized I can do the same when someone mentions something they are looking for, or something of interest to them. I make a note, and end up with a list of potential gifts for them come their birthday or the holidays.
How to be a charming woman by remembering details:
- Make a separate notes section in your phone or in your calendar to write down potential gifts for each person you usually buy a birthday gift for. When they mention something of interest, add it to your list.
- This technique works fantastic if you have a business and have clients. In this notes section you would list details other than gifts. It is important to know details about your clients, their preferences, etc.
Bring Up Pleasant Memories To Invoke Pleasant Feelings
I have a friend who one afternoon spent some time giving herself a honey facial – a few times that afternoon actually.
I remember seeing her later that evening and noticing how incredible her complexion looked. Her co workers even commented.
Eight Years later, I still remember that day, how she looked and how confident she felt. I brought that memory up to her, how glowing she was and how everyone noticed.
She had actually forgotten about that day and hearing about it and reminiscing about it had invoked those same feelings she had on that exact day.
It’s amazing how a small memory can invoke so much good in us and give us such an incredible boost. I see the importance of thinking and dwelling on the good memories we have. We want to welcome those good feelings always.
This is not to be used for manipulative purposes. Its simply help bring out the charm and kindness in yourself and others.
How to be a charming woman by invoking pleasant feelings:
- Use the power of feeling and visualization. Be descriptive when remembering something good.
- Acknowledge people for their triumphs, success and show appreciation. This small tip I learned from the book How To Win Friends And Influence People, By Dale Carnegie.
The title of this book sounds manipulative, but some of the lessons learned throughout the book and the stories told were admirable.
Know That Charming Women Seduce Everyone They Meet
Seduction that we are speaking of is used not in a sexual way – a charming woman seduces you in a way that makes you want to be her or be with her. A charming woman draws people in.
Flirt with everyone. This isn’t the same exact flirting used in dating although some concepts remain the same. This kind of flirting means giving a genuine compliment. Connecting with people.
Wink, smile, touch. The power of touch is quite often unknown. Touching is a direct connection with someone and helps to establish partnerships or relationships in business. This would be in the form of a handshake of course or a hand on the shoulder.
The same representative who would come by our office that we spoke about earlier, the one who learned a few phrases in our other language, definitely had this charming quality as well.
Touch most definitely has an effect even on someone who is completely aware of the tactic being used. I knew what he was doing, building rapport, selling a product, and it did work.
Again, we don’t want to use any of these charming tips for manipulation, its just a wonderful way to connect with someone, friends, new people.
How to be a charming woman through “seduction”:
- Have a flirtatious aura about yourself. This can be in the form of being super friendly, laughing at a funny comment, or giving a genuine compliment.
- Use the power of touch through a handshake, a hand on the shoulder, anything friendly and acceptable.
- Eye contact almost always establishes a connection. Eye contact shows that you are paying attention, and signifies confidence, another charming quality.
- A wink and a smile are super charming. The wink can be considered a daring or bold move, but when done correctly, it’s a cute gesture.
The more charming you are, the more people want to get to know you and to be around you more. Charm is a beautiful quality so long as its coming from a genuine place.
