How To Get Thicker Legs Fast
Answering the question, “How To Get Bigger Legs For Females Without Exercise?” INSTANT RESULTS.
In this first section, I’ll start it off with my favorite little tips that i learned through trial and error.
These 3 are my favorites out of all my tips and tricks and provide instant results in getting thicker legs fast.
MY SPECIAL LITTLE TIP No. 1: Contouring is VERY effective when bare legged. The power of optical illusion here is fantastic.
Self tanner all over. And an extra bit of color down the front of the legs. The trick is blending well here. When done correctly, the sides of your legs will appear just a touch lighter than the front, slightly widening the look of your thighs and lower legs.
I will repeat this method in the How To Make Your Legs Look Bigger In Shorts & Skirts section.
MY SPECIAL LITTLE TIP No. 2:
These “bare look” pantyhose are actually leggings / thick tights that have a nude look to them resembling dark sheer pantyhose. This is a quick trick in achieving how to get bigger legs for females without exercise.
MY SPECIAL LITTLE TIP NO. 3: Texture. Thick Fabrics.
When searching for leggings of tights look for ones with these specific words/features.
- Ribbed
- Cable Knit
- Sweater
- Textured
How To Make Your Legs Look Thicker
If you love the look of leggings, try jeggings. Select jeggings that look like super stretchy jeans. Jeggings have that stretch to them which wont flatten out any curves you may already have like jeans do.
They also have seams on the side of the legs like which can add some width to the legs. Jeggings also have pockets often times on the back which can contribute to some added weight as well [or the appearance of weight rather]
In the Fall & Winter sweater tights are very appropriate. They resemble leggings but have that thickness and often times a thicker knit look that really add volume to delicate legs but also contorting to their lovely shape.
Sweater tights / Cable knit tights were always a favorite of mine to give a more shapely look. Just a little thing to make note of; if you bend over, they may show your bottom through the material. I would always wear them with a sweater that covered my bottom. Keep in mind these kind of leggings can be warmer as they can lock in more heat, although some are breathable.
If you love tights or pantyhose, they have thicker tights instead of the super sheer ones. Find a pair similar to your skin color to have that bare leg effect while also adding the appearance of more weight or more shape.
THIN BOOTS FOR THIN LEGS. When wearing knee high boots or over the knee boot, try to find one with a slender calf that will mold to yours some. I made the mistake of wearing ruched ones that gave me a funny look and actually made my feet look huge and my legs look smaller.
When wearing booties however, this rule may stand corrected.
WHEN WEARING BOOTIES or shorter boots, the slouchy look can apply well. It can make your calves actually look bigger.
How To Make Your Legs Look Bigger in Shorts and Skirts
IF YOU PREFER TO BE BARE LEGGED.
In this section we will discuss how to make your legs look bigger in shorts and in skirts.
To make legs look bigger in shorts and skirts, we must increase the look of weight of the legs through a few strategies, be cognizant of colors, cuts, fabric, silhouettes and extra little details such as patchwork, and embroidery.
What Skirts Are Most Suitable?
Skirts are tricky as they show our already delicate legs. I noticed that an A-line skirt very flattering on thin legs.
Mini-skirts highlighted my thin legs BUT made them look much better than an above the knee skirt, ironically.
Thighs are generally the thicker part of legs and help create the bottom half of the hourglass figure along with the hips.
When hiding this part and showing the lower and thinner part my legs, it gave an overall less curvy appearance in a longer skirt.
An A-line Skirt, A Fold-Over Skirt, Wrap Skirts, Skirts with Ruching; All of these add some weight. The pattern of the skirt is important as well.
You will find more examples in this article 9 Skirts For a Thin Woman: Creating Feminine Curves where I discuss skirts out of my own closet that have enhanced my feminine shape.
Patterns & Designs To Consider When Wearing A Skirt: Zig Zag, Horizontal Stripes, Checkered, Medium Sized Polka Dots, Grid-Like.

How To Make Your Legs Look Bigger in Shorts?
As for shorts, we want to consider the fabric they are made of. Denim can be thicker and add that look of weight. Lighter jean shorts will reflect light and can help create the look of larger hips and thighs.
Patchwork or embroidery on the shorts will also make your legs and hips look a bit more “weighty.”
SPECIAL TIP: To make bare legs look bigger, we can use a strategy of contouring with faux tanner. This must be done carefully otherwise we can be left with streaks.
When I use my faux tanner on my legs, I concentrate that first layer directly on my shins, and going vertically up and down on my shins. This creates a darker looking shin and a lighter look on the calves.
Be sure to blend well. But the idea here is to have a slightly darker look vertically down your center thighs and shins with a lighter look on the sides of your thighs and calves.
Visually creating a larger looking leg.
Best Dresses For Skinny Legs
How to make skinny legs look bigger in a dress.
The best dresses for skinny legs will make them appear bigger while also adding curves in the hips to create an overall thicker appearance. Dresses with; Ruching, Gathering and Draping add some shape to the body overall, for a curvier appearance.
Dresses with a satin-like material also give a wider look to the legs. The shine in the fabric reflects the light creating that larger appearance even if the dress clings a bit to the contours of your body.
To make the upper part of the legs look bigger, choosing a ribbed or ruched fabric will add a certain amount of thickness that increases the look of weight in the legs. This works well with body-con dresses that hug close to the body. A thinner material may make us look thinner whereas this thick ribbing adds an extra layered look, making us look like we have a few more pounds on us.
Long dresses will cover your legs if you feel this is the best option for you. We can definitely add a little sex appeal with a slit in the dress. The slit can still cover the majority of the legs and their shape while showing a glimpse of skin.
Tiered dresses offer width and the look of weight in the legs. If dresses have that flouncy look to them as well, it creates the same effect. Ruffles toward the bottom of the dress expand our vision outward also creating the look of a wider subject, meaning wider looking legs.

What NOT To Wear When You Have Thin Legs
There are always ways to make things on the “What Not To Wear List” actually work.
This all depends on your overall look, so never fear trying these items out at least. They may work for you.
In general however, most ladies with thin legs would avoid;
- Super Wide Bell Bottomed Pants
- Very Tight Jeans. As they constrict and take away shape.
- Very Loose or Baggy Sweats. These have the tendency to make us look as if we are swimming in them.
- Be cautious with High Waisted Jeans. They can work but this is one of those, “pay attention to the details.”
Where does the zipper hit? What is the length?
Pay attention to pocket placement on the bum. Be cognizant of these details and see what works and what doesn’t.
What Pants Can I Wear For Thin Legs?
Trousers in a light color are very pretty for thin legs. Ankle cut styles are great especially if you are very tall.
White Jeans or Jeggings if you are comfortable and take caution with wearing white. The lighter color reflects light more creating the effect of a larger appearance.
Straight legged pants have the ability to compliment thin legs and not contort to the body or show the entire shape as much.
Low rise jeans tend to make the hips look more curvaceous. If you have thin legs and small hips, low rise jeans or jeggings are a fantastic option. They can also compliment your backside nicely in comparison to a higher rise jean.
