How to upgrade yourself. How to be a better version of yourself.
Wanting to upgrade yourself is a key factor in self-growth. The desire to want to do so is the start button itself.
To upgrade yourself you begin with different compartments of your life and see where you want to begin an upgrade. Start by analyzing, creating a plan, going forward with it and continuing the upgrade.
I recommend my other writings where I mention these compartments and also give more ideas on self improvement and continuing to self advance.

- Be A Bold Woman: 6 Key Traits Of A Confident Woman
My suggestions I give are just that, suggestions. They are from my own personal experiences and nothing of course is a must, it’s simply an idea to inspire you or just give you some delight in reading it.
Here are 30 Ideas that will help you upgrade yourself as a woman in your 20’s, 30’s and beyond.
1. Using Correct Grammar & Complete Sentences.
This is a great start to upgrading ourselves. It’s one of the most simple things a person can do but it sure can distinguish two people from one another.
Not only does it look unprofessional when we text with misspelling and poor use of grammar, but it looks lazy even when texting with a friend.
Simple ways to begin to upgrade this little area would be to end your sentences with a period, and replace “Yeah” with “Yes.”
2. Delete the Cussing.
Yes, we all have perhaps cussed before, for it creates a certain effect we may be have been trying to convey at a certain time.
Try to avoid doing so in public and try not to use the cuss words before every noun.
3. Setting & Completing Small Goals Daily.
I mention this one in;
When you set small goals daily, you become more aware of your limits, and that you are actually more capable of achieving things than you think.
Then start setting monthly & yearly goals. Write down your success and see where you may need imporvements.
Visual writing of this helps keep a clear picture in our mind of the direction we are going.
4. Have Savings Built. A Financial Plan In Place.
You can start with a small savings goal of $100 in a certain amount of time. Then try to get to $1,000. This is all about where we are in life and in relation to how much we make along with our expenses.
The key here is having some savings and a sense of where your money is going.
5. Grow A Credit Score. Lean More Toward Independence.
When I first applied for a credit card in my early 20’s I was denied one. I applied for a card with the cash back feature, and barely any credit to my name. Of course I was denied.
Getting a feel for how credit works and how the scoring system worked I was able to upgrade my credit score by 100 points within a short while.
6. Know How To Or Learn To Cook A Full Meal.
This one surprised me. I had no idea I could ever cook something in my twenties. I was someone who was afraid to boil water in my teens. I couldn’t even boil an egg because I thought it would come out wrong.
I come from a family who truly knows how to cook well. All I had to do was ask and have them show me. Step by step of course. The internet and cook books are always available, so there are no excuses in learning to make a dish on your own.
7. Read A Self Help Book. Or Five.
Never cease to learn and never cease to grow. Self help books, years ago, were somewhat cringed at.
Now they seem to be the reason many of us are flourishing and become better versions of ourselves, upgrading if you will.
Books hold so much knowledge and with knowledge comes power. With that we are blessed with more opportunities.

8. Have One Hobby For Yourself Other Than Reading.
In addition to reading, have other hobbies that expand your growth. Find or make a little bit of time to participate in your hobby.
Learn a new skill. Sewing, Knitting, Crafting, Painting, Party Planning, Branding, Design, Sport. Exhibit some passion in your hobby a desire to improve. Always keep your skills and development sharp.
9. Learn & Practice Self Awareness And Acceptance.
I mention many times throughout my site,
It is important to have an image of the woman you want to become.
It is equally imperative that you love yourself as you are in this moment prior to beginning your self improvement.
The MiniSkirt Files
Envision who you are becoming. Take the steps in becoming that woman. Prior to doing so, look at your reflection, get to know her and accept her. She’s the one who can make it all happen.
10. Friends & Family To Confide In. Or Have Self-Reliance.
Having fewer friends but of quality is actually quite normal as we get older and as we improve and upgrade. Of course we can still keep in touch with people, but only select people are truly there when needed and are trustworthy.
Self-reliance is also fantastic. Sometimes we just do not want to share everything and having a strength within, a certain confidence, allows us to be self-reliant.
11. Be Aware of Time.
This is important when you have an idea of who you want to become and upgrade to.
Having goals and set dates helps you ignite the beginning steps towards self-improvement. When you give yourself set dates for goals, you create more desire within to complete that goal.
With each small goal you complete, it’s a an advancement toward becoming that woman which you desire to be. That upgraded, self improved woman.
Use a calendar and write in some things you want to be completed by a certain time.
Example: Due Next Sunday: Have my car organized, cleaned and detailed.
Due Friday: Apply for classes or courses for [insert learning what you’ve been wanting to learn]
Everyone’s goals will look different of course, but mapping them out is quite similar.
12. Learn The Art Of Balance.
Again the calendar or planner comes in to steal the show. Balancing your time is incredibly important. Prioritize and compromise.
Balance not only time, but your mental and physical well being.
13. Be Nurturing.
Being a woman, there is a natural inner feminine energy that is exceptionally nurturing. You can still remain a strong, independent woman if you please for being nurturing will not clash with strength.
I mentioned this in;
Have something to nurture whether it be plants, a garden, or a business you have created.
Watching something you have nurtured actually grow, keeps you growing as well and is a perfect example of upgrading yourself.
14. Plants.
Plants as I have said bring out your nurturing and feminine side. They require some responsibility and it’s beautiful to watch them flourish with your tending to.
If possible, replace fake plants with real ones. It’s much more grown up and the plants can actually bring in some good energy and oxygenate your space a bit.
Bringing in a live plant, it literally brings life into the space.
15. Herb Growing.
There is something about going into your yard, or your window sill and picking off a few herbs you grew yourself.
Some herbs can be quite difficult to grow, so when you actually are able to get them to do so, then you know you can do the same for yourself.
There’s also a self-sufficiency about being able to grow your own foods. Quite admirable.
16. Know Your Value And Worth.
You decide this. Having standards is a way to show it.
17. Have A Signature Look.
A vintage look. A bombshell look. A look from the different decades. A red lip. A certain hair style. 1960’s eye makeup.
What ever your signature look is, own it.
If you don’t have one and you simply like to try out different looks, that’s you. Perhaps you’re eclectic. Your look has a lot to say and presents a personality prior to you even speaking.
I’m always in a pink lipstick if you’re wondering. It’s just something I feel most myself in. A red lip on special occasions like taking a photo for The MiniSkirt Files 😉 .
18. Have Something Signature About Yourself.
A phrase you say. The way you walk. Something signature about yourself.
This is a little piece of you but creates an imprint and adds to the overall aura you create.
19. Have An Essence or Aura About Yourself.
How do you want others to see you?
Envision it. Create it. Become the person you desire to be.
20. Have A Clean & Welcoming Environment.
This refers to your home, your car, your space at work. Wherever you spend time, it is important to make it feel appealing and welcoming.
This has quite an effect on how we feel. Keeping it clean is also imperative as it speaks volumes about who we are.
I love keeping small cleaning supplies with me, a trick I learned from a neat freak I admire to become even slightly like. In my car I have different wipes, a mini vacuum and a little duster cloth.
It’s a wonderful feeling, and an upgrade-like feeling, to have a car that looks brand new inside and outside regardless how many years you’ve had it.
Set this principle in place with all of your belongings.
21. Having A Space Of Your Own.
It is important to have a space that is simply us. Even if you share a place, or do not have a room of your own, a small area that simply feels like you, is important.
It can be a small bookshelf in the corner with your favorites. A cozy nook where you can read. I used to spend time in a walk-in closet because I felt like it was me and my space. I had my clothing and books in there and just loved being surrounded by my things.
22. Have A Collection Of Matching Lingerie.
23. Perfecting Posture.
Posture signifies confidence and self assurance.
You have more of a presence abour yourself with good posture. Practice and be aware of your posture. It not only looks graceful, it is good to keep the spine straight and in good alignment.
24. Good Quality & Value Items.
A few select key pieces of quality will take you further than a large variety of items to just run through.
Investing in good quality, but at a reasonable price in relation to comfort of spending, is a must when upgrading.
This adheres to clothing, shoes, jewelry, purses. And not only these feminine items, but other every day items as well.
25. Have & Keep Good Pieces That Flatter You.
Similar to the above, go through your items and donate what is in good condition but no longer flatters you.
From now on, look at pieces not that you must have because you think someone will think “this or that” of you. Pieces should be purchased if they flatter you, your tastes, your body and overall look.
26. Have A Collection Of Something That Defines You.
Not necessarily that it will define you as a whole, but something that’s completely like you.
A fine china collection. A tea set collection. A tea collection. An collection of art, books, anything.
I love my book collection and love when friends would come by, see them, and be inspired to read one of them. Or we would simply connect more because they too have this book.
27. Know Or Learn Another Language.
Even if it’s a few key phrases. If you travel, it’s always most appreciated to at least learn some basics and not just assume others will understand you. Purchase a small language book to reference to if need be.
You don’t even need to take classes to learn the basics. The world online provides you with a plethora of valuable free information in speaking another language.
You will be surprised at how quickly you can learn.
28. Be Cultured. Understand People Different From You.
My goodness does it irritate me when people put down something or rudely chuckle at it because they simply cannot understand another culture due to their lack of knowledge.
It’s quite classy and an up-leveled trait to be knowledgable and understanding of different cultures.
Visit a museum, visit another country or simply learn about it. You will be more well rounded and perceived on a higher level.
Knowledge creates opportunity.
29. Put Free Time To Use.
Being bored with nothing to do means too much free time sometimes.
Time for relaxation is important, but boredom means, “Let’s get to work on something to help us become a better version of ourselves.” Even if this something is simply envisioning and writing out ideas.
30. Self Nourishment.
Eating more nutrient dense food. Hydration. More vegetables & fruit.
Not only self nourishing the body, but our minds as well. Keeping the mind sharp with evolving our skill and our knowledge.
Always evolving and becoming better, but always with love and acceptance of ourselves, of course.
This Article was to inform you how to upgrade yourself in simple ways. How to be a better version of yourself. How to better yourself. How to be more grown up.
