What Lipstick Makes You Look Younger: Matte Vs. Creamy Finish
Matte lipstick is pure color without any shine or gloss in it. It’s usually opaque and non-translucent.
Matte lipstick is beautiful but it does however have the tendency to dry the lips further accentuating any creases. Creases in the lips and dry appearance of the lips in general can create an aging look of the lips.
If matte lipstick is your preference, simply keep your lips hydrated from within and out. Apply a moisturizing balm before applications. And stay hydrated.
A creamier finish or a lipstick with a semi-satin finish can do wonders in camouflaging the creases and actually help fill them in some. This effect can create a somewhat fuller look to the lips.
A slightly shinier look to the lips adds a bit of youth to the face. These are just general guidelines and you can always bend these “rules” or suggestions to see what fits for you.
When it comes down to Matte Vs. Creamy you can select both as long as they make you feel pretty and as if their texture and color compliment your skin and overall look.

Glossy lips have a fresh, just wet my lips look to them, creating a more youthful appearance. A slight shimmer in a gloss can also create a more youthful effect.
They can be very pretty but not everyone prefers the stickiness that comes with a gloss.
A lipstick with a satin finish is a much better option and a personal preference for those who want to avoid the uncomfortable sticky feeling of a gloss. These lipsticks feel creamier and can give the look of moisture similar to that of a lipgloss.
I personally prefer lipsticks that make you look younger over a lipgloss.
How To Wear Red Lipstick Without Looking “Old”
You can wear anything and make it work to flatter you.
Red lips are a bold statement. They are Va Va Voom, Bombshell, and Vixen-like. But they’re also Classic, Classy, and Chic.
Selecting the right shade & tone ensures a more flattering look. As I said before, there are times where I do not follow the undertone rule in selecting a warm lipstick shade since I am warm tone. Experimenting with different reds is quite possibly the best way to find the right red for you. What looks best?
A reddish orange? A more tan red? A muted red? A deeper plum red? Red can freshen up the face giving a youthful look if properly selected and applied.
To keep red from being too done up, stick to the natural classic way of applying it. Just a few dabs on the lips and kiss some off on a tissue paper.
Lipstick Colors To Avoid When Trying To Look Younger
Again, this is all about experimenting. You would think that sticking to only nudes, pinks, and tans and avoiding darker colors will ensure a youthful look.
Although those colors will generally provide a freshness to the face, we can still play with other colors and end up with that fresh effect of youth.
This all depends on the color and tone of our skin against the shade of lipstick we put on.

In general as we mentioned, sticking to the little make-up rule of selecting warm toned lipstick if you have warm undertones in your skin. And selecting cool toned lipsticks if you have cool toned skin.
As I have mentioned before, this rule can be bent as I’ve felt extremely fresh looking in cool toned lipsticks with my warm undertone skin and foundation.
How Lipstick Makes A Woman Feel
Lipstick to me is an incredible tool of empowerment. By this I mean confidence.
I can be straight out of the shower, have no make-up on and just swipe on my favorite shade. I feel transformed, in just that, a coat of lipstick.
The perfect shade of lipstick will at the same time melt into your overall look perfectly but also bring a brightness to your entire face.
It will make your features sparkle but at the same time soften your overall look and features. It’s difficult to explain until you find one that highlights your pretty details and softens the features you want to blend a bit.
