Smell Good In The Morning [& All Day] : A How-To Sexy Guide

How To Smell Good All Day

To smell good in the morning after laying under the covers for several hours at night might seem difficult. Here is how to do it in a simple manner.

To smell good in the morning, you must go to bed clean, sleep in clean items, take care of your body, and have a few extra little additions that I will share with you.

There are certain things like diet and medicine that can affect the scent a body will naturally produce. In this case, it’s important to add good foods into your diet to balance this out and you can add a few of my additional tips to combat this effect.

This post is to inform you how to smell good in the morning and provide you with some simple and some sexy little tips.

1. Keep A Clean Home

Keep a clean home for you often carry the scent of your home on you.

This means, regularly vacuuming, keeping the garbage and garbage disposal free of bad smells. I usually grind a lemon that’s getting a bit too soft, without the peel, in my grinder to freshen it up quite often.

Please always make sure that this is safe to do so with your grinder. Refer to it’s manual. You don’t want to break it of course.

2. Sleep In A Fresh Nightie

Select a nightie, a camisole, and pajamas you sleep in with natural breathable fibers. Cotton is a breathable material that will help you smell good in the morning by letting your skin breathe and not trapping in moisture for a prolonged amount of time.

Make sure your panties & any lingerie is also fresh.

3. Fresh Bed Linens & Pillowcases Are A Must

Even if you are using a fragrance free detergent, simply cleaning the sheets leaves them with a freshness. You will most definiley smell nicer in the morning by sleeping in fresh sheets.

Similar to tip number 2, you can select blankets and covers in a breathable material as well.

4. Use Fresh Towels After Showering

Always keep your towels fresh.

After doing laundry and washing your towels, make sure to take them straight out of washer and do not leave them sitting wet after just being freshly washed. Promptly take them out as letting them sit creates a midlew scent in your towels. Even after you dry them that sitting scent can now linger and be trapped within the fibers of the towel.

After you shower and dry yourself with this towel, it can leave your skin with that mildew scent.

Lesson Learned: Always keep your towels fresh.

If you do wash them properly and they still have a mildew scent, you may need to purchase new towels.

5. Think about The Phrase, “You Are What You Eat”

What you eat can come out from your pores, the scent that is.

The cleaner we eat, the cleaner our bodies tend to smell. In an interesting study, those who consumed no meat had a more pleasant body odor. This does not mean change your diet completely unless you discussed with a professional they best way to do so. Even if we do indulge in some rich, not so healthy foods at times, we should still attempt to buffer it by increasing our vegetable intake.

Lots of leafy greens, fruits, and staying hydrated can definitely assist in how to smell good in the morning and also provide nourishment to our freshly scented bodies 😉

Many claim pineapple enhances your natural scent. Either way if true or not, it’s a fantastic treat to me.

6. Select The Perfect Body Lotion

Before going to bed, you can indulge your body in a beautifully scented lotion.

I personally love the fresh scent of Nivea Creme, the original scent in the blue tub. I have read in several places that it was a favorite of Marylin Monroe’s.

The consistency is a bit thick and the scent can be quite strong, but I like to put it on areas that I would normally put a perfumed lotion. This is for that extra dash of freshness. I’ll put some behind my knees, on my ankles, my neck (be careful not to get your hair near it until it sinks in), and some on my legs.

There is also a Nivea Soft option which is much easier to spread on the body and still has a freshness to it. This one is great all over the body.

Palmer’s Coco Butter is one I used for over 15 years. I even used it as a face cream for 10 years. The texture is lovely and skin is supple. You do have to like the smell of coco butter for this one.

For some who are sensitive or do not want regular lotions, there are natural lotions available made with essential oils that leave a beautiful scent on the skin as well.

My favorite is the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Lotion. This company has changed their ingredients some over the years since their originals first came out therefore I’m not certain if they are still 100% natural, but this scent it quite lovely.

At first it smells like scentless or like paper, once its rubbed into the skin it works it’s magic, at least in my opinion.

Please always keep in mind if you have any allergies or sensitivities prior to using a new product. Always consult with a professional.

7. Just A Little Dab Of Perfume

Just to be a little extra 😉

Rub A Little Sexy Perfume On Before Bed.

After a nice lotion, you can take an extra step and do a dab of perfume in some sexy areas like behind your ear, behind the neck, behind the knees.

I personally love doing so with a perfume lotion. Or even my Nivea cream as I mentioned earlier.

8. Shower Before Slipping Into Bed

Why, Of course! We are continuing the idea of “fresh!”

We want a freshly showered body in our clean nightie in our clean and fresh linens and snuggled under fresh covers.

9. Clean Appropriately In The Shower

Our face creates oils during the day and not to mention we may have make-up on our lovely face all day. Wash your face well, wash your body well. Make sure to properly clean your intimate ares of course.

I love a body scrub especially under the arms and on the feet for an extra freshness. Body scrubs will also assist in how to smell good in the morning for it really cleans the skin.

May favorite body scrub is the Dove Exfoliating Body Polish in Crushed Macadamia & Rice Milk. The Nivea Creme is more of a crisp freshness whereas this has a more of a warmth to it. Slightly tropical but a warm fresh, cozy light scent.

You can make a natural body scrub or purchase a natural one if you prefer natural ingredients.

Wash under your nails. Make sure to clean behind your ears and clean your ears after you shower as well. Take out your earrings and wipe them with rubbing alcohol.

A good fresh smelling shampoo of course will leave a fine scent in our hair that wakes up with us as well.

Please always keep in mind if you have any allergies or sensitivities prior to using a new product. Always consult with a professional.

10. Oral Hygiene To The Max

Fresh breath in the morning is much more possible if you clean your mouth prior to getting into bed.

Don’t forget the importance of flossing unless instructed otherwise by a professional!

As a little trick, I’ll sometimes keep a little container of breath mints on the nightstand. it’s just a little extra tip to feel super sexy in the morning knowing you’re extra fresh.

Note: If you have little children, of course do not keep the mints out!

11. Spray Bed Linens: An Extra Tip

There are many linen sprays and you can also make one as well using a few drops of essential oils. Do a little bit of research. This sets the mood, creates an ambiance and gives an extra touch of freshness to your sheets.

12. Be Aware Of Self Tanner

Self tanner gives us that sexy glow if we didn’t happen to get a little color from the sun or are trying to avoid it.

Self tanner can smell like a mix of mushrooms, corn chips and biscuits mixed with some perfumed scent. A strange and unappetizing combination of scents yes, but it’s true, self tanner can leave quite a distinguishing and unpleasant after scent. This scent can be embedded in the skin for days sometimes.

Always wash the clothing you wore while “tanning.” And bedsheets too of course if you happned to sleep in the tanner.

I recently discovered a self tanner that actually didn’t leave my skin with that scent. It seemed to vanish after I washed it all off.

For years I used the St. Tropez Self Tanner and the St. Tropez 3 Hour Express Tanner. The colors they give are so incredibly beautiful but their scent stayed in my skin for days. Before that I used the Bare Essential Faux Tan which I believe has been discontinued.

Ironically, the ONLY one to leave me without it’s obnoxious scent (after washing of course) was the St Tropez Self Tan Extra Dark Bronzing Mousse. It’s consistency is not as great as the other ones, but it left me without that sticky feeling and without that embedded biscuit scent. My new staple.

Please always keep in mind if you have any allergies or sensitivities prior to using a new product. Always consult with a professional.

13. A Little Swipe Of Deodorant

This is a super extra tip.

It does work however in making you feel fresher in the morning. In this case, I prefer a natural deodorant as we don’t tend to sweat much at night, usually.

14. Bring Fresh Air Into The Room

Every night I love to open the window just a bit for a breeze of fresh air. In the morning I do the same thing, just to bring in some fresh oxygen and clean air into the room.

Such a simple tip, but really can freshen up a room and therefore make you feel fresher as well.

This post was to inform you how to smell good in the morning.
